Synopsis

Based on the traditional story. Dick travels to London with his cat Tommy, gets a job and falls in love with Alice. After being framed by King Rat, he is sent from London only to hear the Bow Bells telling him to turn about. Dick then sets sail for Morocco with Sara the Cook, Idle Jack & Alice where after being ship wrecked he & Tommy the Cat rid the Sultan’s Palace of rats. Happy endings all round.

 
 
 

Regular Production

This version of Dick Whittington was written for a company of 16 - ten principle parts & six chorus parts with three people doubling up. There are also two ‘skin’ costumes - a gorilla and a camel.

It is a modern update of a traditional British pantomime, packed with jokes, innuendo, double entendre, audience participation and magic moments.

The running time is approximately, Act 1, 1 hour &, Act 2, 55 minutes.

 
 
 

School Productions

As above but with less innuendo and double entendre and a running time of 1 hour. Suitable for schools.
